Wine and Wineries in Aragon

  • Wine & Wineries

Discover the varied and the noble wines of Aragon. An area that has four distinct wine regions, each with its own language and culture, and each of those regions merges time-honoured local food & wine traditions. The oldest of the wine denominations in Aragon and one of the oldest in Europe is Cariñena.

The Campo de Borja is surrounded by the Mount Moncayo, the custodian and guardian of the vineyard, and the Monasterio de Veruela, a place where the wine producing tradition began.

The vineyards of the Somontano, located in the foothills of the Aragonese Pyrenees, have an ideal altitude and climate as well as an interesting range of grape varieties and wineries intent on making unique, high-quality wines.

Calatayud is a privileged area, next to the Jalon and Jiloca rivers. The Mudejar legacy remains in many of the towns and villages of this region.  Learn all about wine making, direct from wine-growers. Visit a wine-cellar and find out lots about the traditions of wine; try a speciality wine straight from the cask.
