Alen d'Aragon Hotel
Alen d'Aragon has created the idea of a "hotel village", like a hamlet in the Pyrenean foothills, nestled among almonds, olives and holm oaks where you will find peace, a friendly welcome and a perfect base to explore the surrounding area. Alen d'Aragon is a family hotel and all of us are here to make you feel welcome and to ensure that your stay is pleasant and all your needs are met.
Hotel Alen d'Aragon is surrounded by history, being located in the region close to where the Kingdom of Aragon was born more than a thousand years ago. The hotel is located on the outskirts of Santa Eulalia de Gallego, a charming Aragonese village perched above the river Gallego where it cuts dramatically through the towering cliffs of the Pyrenean foothills.
Hotel Alen d'Aragon offers 5 luxurious suites and 6 double rooms set out in a cluster of five buildings. Each room is like a small village house with its own entrance door and direct access to a large terrace area which is private to each room or suite from where you can enjoy spectacular views of the majestic “Mallos de Riglos” rock formations in the Sierra de Gratal with Loarre Castle and the Aragonese Pyrenees in the distance.. All the rooms have private terraces and en suite bathrooms with baths and/or showers (two suites with hydro-massage baths).
Casa Barbara: This suite is housed in a detached building and offers an open and integrated living and sleeping space on one level, with both shower area and separate luxury sized bath. It also has its own large porch and a very generous and private terrace area, both directly accessible from the suite. With its magnificent views of the mountains and its generous covered terrace, this suite is more like a detached country cottage than a hotel room.
Casa Patricia: One suite is on the upper floor of a two story building with outside access by way of stairway and private terrace with magnificent mountain views. The suite is on three levels; a living area with french windows opening onto a balcony; a couple of steps down to the bedroom area and bathroom with whirlpool bath, shower and dressing area; and a short flight of stairs up to a small loft overlooking the rest of the suite. This spacious room is light and airy, the perfect place to spend anything from a long week-end to a fortnight exploring the countryside of Aragón.
The other suite of this house is on the first floor and is accessed through its own covered, wooden-decked terrace. The entrance hall has a small kitchenette (suitable for preparing drinks and sandwiches). The living area is on the upper part of this split-level suite with access to a balcony and full bathroom with whirlpool bath and separate shower. The lower level houses a large bedroom area with spectacular views of the mountains through a large corner window.
Casa Maria Lilia: A suite housed in its own detached, sandstone building, set out on split levels. The lower level has an entrance hallway with small kitchenette (suitable for preparing drinks and sandwiches) and a lounge area with access to large terraces. The upper level houses the bedroom area and bathroom.
Casa Avril: This spectacular and very private suite is accessed through its own terrace overlooking open countryside on all sides. The interior features an original combination of curved walls and a high inclined ceiling. A huge triple paned window provides spectacular views of the mountains which completes the architectural uniqueness of this very elegant suite. It has a full bathroom with separate bath and shower.
Hotel Alen d'Aragon also has six spacious double rooms to choose from. These are situated on the ground floor, each with its own private access from outside and french windows accessing a private terrace. All the rooms have bathrooms, four with full bathrooms , one with a bathroom with shower and the other with an open plan shower area and separate bathroom.
Food & Drink: Using the best local produce available, our chef uses the freshest of ingredients with a special emphasis on promoting typical Aragonese dishes and wines. Alen d'Aragon specialties are white tuna salad on a bed of sweet marinated tomato in balsalmic vinegrette, frappé of melon with shavings of Teruel ham and fresh mint, scrambled egg on potato wafers with fresh foie and port wine sauce, Boletus mushroom risotto with duck liver and demi-glace sauce, entrecôte steak with rich cream sauce, char-grilled duck breast, grilled t-bone steak and grilled cod fillet served with a creamy Jabugo Ham sauce.
The restaurant is just a few yards away from the rooms and offers a pleasant, airy atmosphere with spectacular views of the mountains and has ample lounge areas for relaxing or taking refreshments. From here you can also enjoy views of the almond grove. The interior has a light, warm atmosphere created by natural wood and complemented by the friendly service.
Surroundings: The hotel is well located and many places of interest are easily within reach. We suggest you visit historic Loarre Castle, the beautiful city of Pamplona or the Pyrenees to the north. Alternatively you can choose to participate in a range of outdoor activities such as hiking or birdwatching.
